What can IPL do for your skin?
The primary mechanism of action in the photo rejuvenation process is the controlled delivery of specific light energy to tissue to stimulate collagen production (fine lines), coagulate vascular conditions (spider veins), and resolve uneven epidermal pigments (sun/age spots). During your first IPL treatment, you will notice a significant change in your skin’s appearance.

Conditions effectively treated:Laser Hair Reduction
•Sun Damage, Age Spots, Hyperpigmentation,
•Spider Veins, Fine Lines, Rosacea,
•Active Acne and Acne Scars
We offer free consultations for all IPL treatments. Book yours today!

Frequently Asked Questions
How does IPL Work?
Lasers design for hair removal emits light at wavelengths to be absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle (pigment gives hair its colour). The laser is then pulsed only for a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to disrupt the hair follicle. Wheâ„¢n the pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, energy is converted into heat and these results in thermal damage to the hair follicle. This thermal damage causes delayed re-growth of the hair resulting in permanent destruction of the hair follicle.

What areas of the body can be treated?
Generally any part of the body can be treated. Exceptions include areas in close proximity to the eyes, the inner ear and nose. The most popular areas for hair removal are the underarms, bikini, upper lip, chin, face, legs, back & chest.
Are there any side effects?

After your treatment you can expect redness in the area. This usually lasts for a couple of hours but can last up to one day. You may feel like you have been sun burnt in the area and this normally takes about one day to subside.
For a few days afterwards there can be some slight scabbing which is normal. We recommend moisturizing with Aloe Vera as this can speed up the healing process.

Does IPL hurt?
Some people describe the lasers pulse as a light tingling or stinging sensation as is usually no more painful than waxing or plucking a few hairs. The vast majority of people have no problems at all with the procedure.
Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others and a topical anesthesia may be used to decrease the sensation further more.

How many IPL treatments will I need?
Hair grows in cycles. The IPL is effective on hair in its actively growing cycle. At any one time there will only be certain hairs in that growing phase. This means that consistent treatments at appropriate intervals are absolutely necessary for the best possible results.

This varies anywhere from 6-8 treatments. That said though, some clients have been very happy with the result after just a few treatments. From your test patch we can usually see how many more treatments it will take to achieve your desired result, which often averages out at about six treatments.
